  • AS Monaco's search for striker continues with prolific Napoli loanee linked

Carlos Vinicius joining Rio Ave on loan from Napoli

Rio Ave striker Carlos "Careca" Vinicius is currently on loan from Serie A side Napoli and is currently enjoying huge success with the Portuguese club, but his spell could probably be cut short to allow the tall Brazilian to join Les Monegasques this January, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio.

The 2016/17 Ligue 1 champions are currently struggling at a quite surprising 19th spot on the Ligue 1 table. They are currently in the lookout for strikers as the side which are currently managed by Thierry Henry feel that they lack firepower up-front despite having prominent strikers Radamel Falcao and Stevan Jovetic and young talents such as Pietro Pellegri and Moussa Sylla.

AS Monaco are also targeting Michy Batshuayi with reports saying that talks have intensified due to the player's interest in joining the club.

The Ligue 1 team are also struggling with injuries in the attacking department with Stevan Jovetic, Jordi Mboula, Willem Geubbels, Pietro Pellegri, and Nacer Chadli sidelined for some time due to various problems.

Carlos Vinicius has been in a majestic run this season as he appeared in 20 occasions for Rio Ave across all competitions, scoring a total of 14 goals with 2 assists to his name.

The 23-year-old may well be on his way to France providing AS Monaco send a respectable offer to the Italian club.
